Travel Guide, Windhoek
Windhoek (German: Windhuk) is the capital of Namibia.
It is one of the few former colonies of Germany - but long time in dependency of South Africa. In 1990 to 1993 it became independent, in a peaceful way.
Windhoek is peaceful, like all Nambia. The city is relatively small in population, in a large country.
Most visitors look out for the national parks or game hunting. Windhoek offers real city life, with plenty opportunities to shop or go out.
