Travel Guide, Pattaya

Pattaya is the closest beach from Bangkok (about 140 kms south), and even closer from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
At the eastern seaboard of the gulf of Thailand Pattaya is very popular with the Bangkok inhabitants, the short term visitors and (unfortunately) also the Sex tourists.
It started of as a tourist destination of the Bangkok residents and a US marine base - and since then it lost its status as a small fishing village.
