Lakshadweep Travel Guide
Lakshadweep is a Union Territory of India. These are also the only coral islands in India. The islands are only 32 sq. kms in area. The islands have a population of around 60,000 people, most of whom are Sunni Muslims. They are located just 400 sq. kms off the Kerala coast. The islands are ideal for diving on account of coral reefs and the moderate temperatures. Lakshadweep became a Union Territory of India in 1956.
