Boats and ferries, India

There are many ports in India like Mumbai, Goa, Chennai and Visakhapatnam. Still very rarely tourists come to India by boat, and even the small jump from South India to Sri Lanka is not possible by boat.

Boat trips are possible to some destinations within India, e.g. to the Andaman Islands.

If you have to ship something out of India, the larger stuff will be transported in container ships (takes up to 3 months).
