Flora and Fauna of Europe
Flora in Europe:
The main flora in Europe are forests. Once 85% of Europe was covered by forests. Nowadays this is about 25%. In Scandinavia and Russia you still can find untouched wilderness, but in the rest of Europe this is hard to find. Here you mainly will find national parcs because the rest of the flora is touched by human beings.
In temperate europe, broadleef and coniferous forests dominate. In central and western Europe beech and oak dominate. In Russia en northern Scandinavia you can find tundra, in the mediterranean part you can find olive trees and grasslands can be find from Russia to Hungary.
Fauna in Europe:
Through history more and more forests were disappearing. With this, animals were also drawing back and dangerous animals have been hunted. Nowadays, you could find a bear in parts of Scandinavia, Russia and the Balkan although the chance of seeing one is very small.
Eurasian Lynx, wildcats, snails, deers and foxes are more probable to see, just as different reptiles snakes and birds.
In the waterlife there are plenty of different fish and mainly phytoplankton, like zooplankton, molluscs, echinoderms, crustaceans, squids, octopuses, dolphins and whales.
