Eating and Drinking in Europe
Every country in Europe has its own culture and identity and this is obvious when looking at eating and drinking. Every country has its own specialties. Below there is a list of some countries with its eating and drinking specialties:
- France: France is famous because of its wines. Furthermore, there are a lot of different French' cheeses which you can eat with 'baguettes' (long breads)
- Spain: Paella is a rice dish with different kinds of fish in it and is very popular in Spain. A drink which is popular in Spain is a kind of sweet red wine; Sangria.
- Italy: Italy is well knows because of its pizza's and pasta's and there are many different Italian wines as well.
- Netherlands: In the Netherlands a popular dish is 'Stamppot rauwe andijvi'. This is made of mashed potatoes, sausages, bacon and a kind of typical Dutch green lettuce mashed in it. This mix is very tasteful.
- Belgium: In Belgium many different strong brown beers are made. If you are in Belgium, you can't miss a small cafe where you can drink one of these Belgium beers.
- England: Besides the 'fish and chips' in newspapers, the English breakfast (beans, bacon, toast, sausages, juice, coffee, milk tea) is very popular.
