Delhi (region) Travel Guide
Delhi is one of the most ancient cities in the world with a history going back about 5000 years. Indraprashta, the legendary capital of the Pandavas of the Hindu epic, Mahabharata, was supposedly in the same area as present day Delhi. The city is divided into two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. New Delhi is the new city that came up in the early 20th century and the architect was Edwin Lutyens, a British architect. This is the seat of government of the country.
