Set up a personal profile

To set up your personal profile on Earth.org, you must be a registered member of the community. Aside from your user name - which consists of your first name as well as your family name - you have to think of a password and agree to our terms and conditions and privacy terms.
Although you must enter your family name in order to register with Earth.org, only the first letter of your family name will be shown to other users. So instead of your full name, e.g. “Mary Smith,” your Earth.org profile will only display Mary S. We will send your user data to the email address you provide upon registration. In the event that you forget your password, we will mail it to you a second and even a third time if necessary.
Of course, we will never publish your email address anywhere or forward it to other companies, and will only use it to communicate with you.
The major advantage of being a registered member of the Earth.org community is that you will get credit for the changes and additions you make to Earth.org: your first name and the first letter of your family name will be shown next to each location or article you founder.
Once you have registered you can log in on Earth.org at any time, have a look at your profile or make changes.
If you select the box "Remember me!" you are automatically logged in for the next five days, providing you don’t log yourself off before that.
